Hosted by the Serbian Orthodox Church—Eastern American Diocese
By the Blessing of His Grace, Bishop Irinej
A Historic Gathering for Iconographers Across America
Join us for an inspiring and unforgettable week at the first-ever Iconography Camp at the beautiful St. Sava Shadeland Monastery in Springboro, Pennsylvania. From October 13–18, iconographers from across the country are invited to come together in prayer, learning, fellowship, and sacred artistic labor in the heart of Orthodox tradition.
This unique camp is blessed by His Grace, Bishop Irinej, and organized under the auspices of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America. It offers a rare opportunity to study and collaborate with other iconographers in a spiritually rich, monastic setting surrounded by nature’s peace.
A Week of Theory, Prayer, and Practice
Led by Rev. Fr. George Popovich, a theologian and master iconographer with over 30 years of experience, the camp is designed for both seasoned and emerging iconographers seeking to deepen their understanding and refine their technique.
Participants will take part in:
•Daily classes and theological reflections on the foundations of iconography
•Hands-on practice through the unique opportunity of painting the altar of the Shadeland Church
•A rhythm of daily liturgical life: Divine Liturgy, Matins, Vespers, communal meals, and spiritual fellowship
•Group discussions and peer feedback sessions to learn from each other’s experiences
This week is more than a workshop - it’s a sacred retreat to refresh your calling and your craft.
