To the glory of God, and with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej, under the patronage of IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities), the first “Fall Family Day” was held in our parish on Sunday, November 2nd.

Our church grounds were filled with the joyful voices and laughter of many of our youngest parishioners who, after the Divine Liturgy, Holy Communion, and fellowship in the church hall, spent the day playing and enjoying time together with their parents, grandmothers, and grandfathers.

For this occasion, our parish priest prepared a workshop for parents on the topic “Challenges of Orthodox Parenting in Modern Times.” Following that, a presentation of the new playground improvement project was given, with the goal of providing even more beautiful and safer conditions for the play and recreation of our youngest members on our church property.

Since in today’s world being a parent in the spirit of the Orthodox faith is truly a great challenge, the plan is to begin online workshops for parents, where issues of parenting would be discussed in the spirit of the Orthodox faith and the Gospel. As St. John Chrysostom said: “The home of Christians is a little Church,” and everything begins from the Christian home.

On this occasion, we express our deep gratitude to all participants who helped organize today’s event, to the IOCC organization for its patronage and for sending the “Orthodox Prayer Journal” for our children, and to everyone who in various ways supports the life of our parish.

ПРВИ “JЕСЕЊИ ДАН ПОРОДИЦЕ” У ШАРЛОТУ

У славу Божију, Благословом Његовог Преосвештенства Господина Иринеја, под покровитељством IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities), у недељу 02. новембра одржан је први “Јесењи дан породице” у нашој парохији. 

Наше црквено имање било је испуњено жамором и смехом великог броја наших најмлађих који су након одслужене Св. Литургије, Свете Тајне Причешћа и послужења у црквеној сали, дан провели у игри и дружењу са својим родитељима, бакама и декама.

За ову прилику, за присутне родитеље, парохијски свештеник припремио је радионицу на тему “Изазова Православног родитељства у модерном времену”, након чега је представљен и пројекат унапређења новог дечијег игралишта, како би се обезбедили још лепши и сигурнији услови за игру и разоноду наших најмлађих на нашем црквеном имању.

Будући да у данашњем времену, бити родитељ у духу православне вере представља уистину велики изазов, план је да се започне са онлајн радионицама за родитеље где би се у духу православне вере и Јеванђеља разговарало о родитељству, јер по речима Св. Јована Златоустог: „Дом Хришћана је Црква у малом“ и из родитељског дома све полази.

Овом приликом велику захвалност упућујемо свим учесницима данашњег догађаја, на помоћи у организацији, IOCC организацији на покровитељству, слањем „Orthodox Prayer Journal” за наше најмлађе, и свима који на различите начине помажу живот наше парохије.
