Benefit for proposed Mission Parish
On March 22nd, 2017, the Naples Serbian Community, under the devoted leadership of Mrs. Branislava Cirakovic, sponsored a Lenten social gathering in benefit of a proposed mission parish for the Diocese of Eastern America. Approximately 65 adults and 20 youths attended.

Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Fr. Uros Ocokoljich and retired Protopresbyter Fr. Ernest of the Greek Orthodox Church, offered a prayer and blessed the food. It was then explained to all present that the reason for the gathering was for the ultimate purpose of organizing a local Serbian Orthodox Parish in Naples, through which the Orthodox faith could practiced and taught, Serbian culture and tradition promoted, and especially through nurturing youth religious education and folklore. Sava Cirakovic gave a power point presentation on the churches of Serbia, built by the Nemanjic Dynasty.

Several of the young married couples come forward and volunteered to assist with public relations, to establish a webpage, FaceBook and hopefully a mobile application through which donations can be solicited.

The initiator of the Naples Serbian Community under the patronage of St. George was the late Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Aleksandar Hadzi-Radenkovich. Among all else that evening, the 96th birthday of Protinica Georgina Radenkovich was marked.

With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Easern America,Paschal Liturgy will be celebrated in the Naples chapel on Sunday, April 16th. The following social gathering is scheduled for St. George's Day, May 6th, in honor of the designated Patron Saint of the Community. Other plans include starting classes for the youth and sponsoring a Serbian Day.
