LITURGICAL GUIDELINES FOR PETITIONS CONCERNING

THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
DIOCESE OF EASTERN AMERICA OF THE SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH

Due to the present COVID-19 pandemic in which we find ourselves, and all measures being taken to limit its spread, nothing can be accomplished without prayer! As is known to you, President Donald Trump has declared Sunday, March 15^th to be a National Day of Prayer in the United States of America.

We request that the following petitions be integrated into the Divine Liturgy, until further notice, in all our parishes and monasteries of the Eastern American Diocese:

1. To be inserted into the Great Litany following the petition, “For our Christ-loving and suffering Orthodox people… “For our salvation during the time of this pandemic; for protection and deliverance from the Coronavirus; for the health and recovery of those suffering from this virus; and for the guidance of physicians and those who minister to the afflicted, let us pray to the Lord.” 

2. To be inserted before the final petition of the Augmented Litany: "Eternal Lord, God Almighty, in your ineffable goodness and love for humankind, look upon us who have gathered in your Holy Name and those who could not be present; be our constant helper and defender at the time of this pandemic and hear our prayer offered with contrition of heart: Compassionate Lord, save, protect and deliver us from the impending threat of the Coronavirus; grant health and recovery to those suffering from this virus; and guide the hands of physicians and preserve those who minister to the afflicted, let us all say with all our heart and mind, Lord, have mercy."

ЛИТУРГИЈСКА УПУТСТВА ПОВОДОМ COVID-19 ПАНДЕМИЈЕ
ЕПАРХИЈЕ ИСТОЧНОАМЕРИЧКЕ СРПСКЕ ПРАВОСЛАВНЕ ЦРКВЕ

С обзиром да се налазимо у јеку COVID-19 пандемије и да се предузимају све мере да се спречи ширење исте, ништа се не може постићи без молитве! Као што вам је познато, председнк Доналд Трамп прогласио је недељу, 15. март за национални Дан молитве у Сједињеним Америчким Државама.

Молимо вас да се, до даљњег, у свим храмовим и манастирима Епархије источноамеричке, следеће прозбе изговарају на Светој Литургији:

1. На великој јектенији, после прозбе: „За благоверни и христољубиви...“ додати прозбу: „За наше спасење у ове дане пандемије; за заштиту и избављење од корона вируса; за здравље и исцељење оних који болују од њега; и за руковођење лекара и оних који служе угроженима, Господу се помолимо.“
   
   
2. На крају сугубе јектеније додати: „Свемогући и вечни Боже, у својој неизрецивој доброти и љубави према људском роду, погледај на нас који смо се сабрали у име Твоје и на оне који су оправдано одсутни; буди нам стални помоћник и бранитељ у ово време пандемије и чуј наше молитве које ти узносимо покајничког срца: Самилостиви Боже, спаси, сачувај и избави нас он предстојеће претње корона вируса; подај здравље и исцељење онима који од њега болују, управљај рукама лекара и сачувај оне који служе угроженима, рецимо сви из свог срца и ума, Господепомилуј!“
