Matins and the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy were celebrated at The Archdiocesan Cathedral of The Holy Trinity and Archon Investiture were officiated by His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and all Africa, Sunday October 9th, 2022, concelebrated with His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America (GOA), together with Their Eminences and Graces, Metropolitan George of Guinea (Alexandrian Patriarchate), Metropolitan Methodios of Boston (GOA), Bishop Irinej of Eastern America (SOC), Metropolitan Nikodim of Memphis (Alexandrian Patriarchate), Bishop Ierotheos of Eucarpias (Ecumenical Patriarchate), Bishop Joachim of Amissos (GOA) and Timothy of Hexamilion (GOA). Prayerfully present was His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Former Elder of America (GOA).
The historic Patriarchal Divine Liturgy, the first ever celebrated by a Patriarch of Alexandria in the United States of America, coincided with the Eighteenth Anniversary of the ascension to the Throne of Saint Mark of Patriarch Theodoros II.
The Rite of Investiture was celebrated following the Divine Liturgy, with the induction of the Class of 2022 Archons of the Great Church of Christ.
Following the Patriarchal Liturgy, among the many faithful present, His Beatitude received the Serbian students from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in Yonkers, New York.
